Note Identification…

is a skill that many beginning, and even some intermediate, students need daily practice until those note names and their location on the piano keyboard become second nature.  When a student knows the names of the notes, the intervals of notes, the direction notes are going, and where each note is located on the keyboard, that student is absolutely unstoppable.  This is why it is crucial that students practice naming notes every day at home.  The link below will get you started on a few games.  Purchasing a set of flashcards from the studio ($5) and following the included directions (you’ll need a stopwatch) will also improve note name ID.  Just give a shout if you would like to purchase a set.  Happy lightning-quick note naming!
